31 Weeks and SOOO ready

Well, I'm 31 weeks pregnant and so ready to meet our little man! Our summer hasn't been too hot here until August, and let me tell you, it's been HOT. I normally love the summer months and really hot sunny weather, however not this year. I guess I've never really understood it when women complain about the weather, but I understand it now. I love that we have an AC in our bedroom now. Thanks mom and Jim! :)

About 3 weeks ago, Corey and I went and had pictures taken by our friends Earl and Doreen so we can have them for the baby book. It was a lot of fun. I did most of them alone, but we got some of Corey and I and even got a few shots with Bruce in them. Our first official family photo! I can't wait to see the finished shots. It took a while to get done, but it was completly worth it. I'll be sure to post more when we get them.

Last weekend, 8/28/10, my sister and mom threw me my first baby shower. It was at the park outside and unfortunatley for most people, it was a bit cold and windy. For me, it felt great of course! haha. It was so great to have my sisters, BOTH OF THEM and my niece Skylar over here to share in my excitment. Hopefully they had a great time too. Corey and I got a bunch of great stuff that we need. I loved it all, and when I brought it all home, Corey had to go through it all. It was so exciting to watch him get just as excited as I did when I opened everything. I love it!

All in all, pregnancy hasn't been too bad like I had expected it to be. For those that know me know I was terrified of being "grossed out" the entire time. At 31 weeks, I've gained 25 lbs and know that I have a bit more to go. Hopefully walking every day at work will help keep that down a bit. :) I'm going to the doctor every two weeks now, which means it's getting close! We have so much to do, but am hoping by the end of the month and after the next shower, we'll have Keegan's room all ready for him. We're starting that this weekend.

Well, Hopefully I'll remember to get one more post at least before the arrival of our little bean! A little scary saying that, but I can't wait until he's here.(I know, I've already said that, but it's so true.) Until then....

25 Weeks And Counting

Wow, I guess it's been longer than I thought since I've updated this, so I'll do it now. :) A lot has happened, of course at 20 weeks we found out what our baby bean is, A BOY of course!! We're so excited! When we went in for the ultrasound, I know everyone thought it was a girl, including Corey and I so we were caught off guard a bit with the news of a boy, but not in a bad way. Corey got really excited and I of course started crying out of pure joy! He was healthy and growing right on target. They said he's in the 52nd percentile as of 20 weeks so even though mommy is looking rather large, it's not all from him. lol.

We have of course started looking at names, although Corey's had a couple picked out forever. I think we've settled on Keegan for his first name even though Corey calls him Buck. (I don't think so!) We're both very excited.

Also at this same appointment, when I got weighed in, they informed me I had gained 10 pounds in 4 weeks! WHAT? Although I had lost weight the first 4 months, that was a shock. My doctor didn't talk to me about it or seem concerned so I just passed it off. :) My favorite foods, anything sweet! Donuts, Frosted Flakes cereal (my favorite right now!!!), cookies, etc. ANYTHING and if you know me, that's not me.

On other news, July 11th, I had taken a bath before bed, went downstairs to wait for Corey to get home from a fishing trip and witnessed for the very first time, my stomach moving on it's own. I have to be honest and say it really freaked me out. I've always thought it was gross watching it happen to someone else so I wasn't to pleased when I saw it happen to me. I wasn't sure how I'd react when I first saw it, but I knew in time, I'd come to enjoy it, and I have. I love to watch my belly move now, watching the beating taking place inside me. ha ha. The very next day, I couldn't wait for Corey to see it. Since we have a pretty active baby that never seems to really stop moving, he's seen it quite a bit. I love it when he lays his head on my stomach to feel him.

Now to 24 weeks...we went in last week for my 24 week check up and I gained another 8pounds in 4weeks. OK...so this time, I got the talking too. What am I eating, doing for exercise, etc. She suggested no more sugar, or at least, cut it way back. That was so sad. It was hard to go to the grocery store after that appointment and all I wanted was ice cream or a donut or brownies. Seriously! I was good though and didn't buy any of it. I wouldn't say I've been great since then, but I have cut back a bit and trying to eat more fruits and veggies instead of sugary stuff. I've also started walking Monday - Thursday with my coworker here at work every morning. We walk about 2 miles at the park behind us. It's such a great way to get my butt moving again, and feels good too of course. Hopefully it'll curb some of that weight gain for the last 3 months. We shall see!

Lately, I've been experiencing back pain for the first time in my life. Last weekend my mom and I went to Keegan's first concert. It was Toby Keith and Trace Atkins and of course I was standing almost the entire time so I'm pretty sure that didn't help the back situation at all. I think Keegan enjoyed it since he was dancing (or punching, but I choose to think of him dancing...lol) with me the entire night. The back pain is not pleasant of course, but the end result will be worth any pain I experience the rest of these 3 1/2 months! Corey and I also finally registered at Baby's R Us and Target for the upcoming showers. I can't wait to have them and get the nursery all ready for baby bean! I stress about it a little bit, but I know it'll get done. I'll be sure to post pictures when it is in October.

16 weeks and counting...

So a lot has happened and changed. I've procrastinated on updating for my 16 week appointment, so thought I'd do it still even though I'm 18 weeks along tomorrow. Man this is flying by fast! Since my sister was in town for my 30th birthday, I asked her to go with me to my appointment. Corey was supposed to go fishing (I told him it was ok, now worries...lol). So it was Me, Michele and my friend Amy all in the room. I'm glad they got to go, especially for my sister to get to come and hear the heart beat with us. That was a quick appointment, just making sure I'm all healthy and this time we heard the heart beat right away. Now, I wish I could hear it every day, rather than just once a month.

We also celebrated my 30th birthday that same weekend! It was great, we had a bbq party at our house hosted by my mom and Corey. What an event, at least 75 people in my house. It was great though, like one big family reunion. Easily the best birthday ever, especially with having my mom and dad there with me to celebrate together. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Since then, Corey has also had his final check up with Dr. Lewis for his Sarcoidosis. Dr. Lewis decided since everything seemed good to ween him off the prednisone. As of last week, he's completly off of it. He did however want him to get a CT Scan and another respitory test to make sure we have a "new" base in case it does decide to come back again.

We did get the results of the CT Scan and they were good and some not so good. Good news was his lungs were perfectly clear with no signs of the disease what-so-ever. The not so good news was he noticed some enlarged lymphnodes in his left armpit area. He said he didn't think it was anything to worry about too much, but if he was having swelling or discomfort to get it checked out. Well, he has been and we just assumed it was a reaction to his deoderant. So we decided after my birthday to get him in to have it checked out.

He went in this last Wednesday to his PCP and I was bummed that I couldn't go with him. According to Corey, the Dr. said he thinks his body is fighting infection from going off the prednisone which is why the lymphnodes were enlarged. He did say however that he was going to review the CT Scan with the surgeon to see if he needs to get a biopsy done, so we're waiting on that just to make sure. In the mean time, he gave Corey some antibiotics to fight whatever it is he has and hoping that this doesn't mean anything else. We're just keeping our fingres crossed. :) All in all, we're staying positive, focusing on what's to come in the new future, (THE BABY! :)

WE'll be sure to keep everyone updated on what's happening with both! We find out in only 2 more weeks what we're having! I can't wait!

One year later and still great news!!

Well, it's been quite a while since I've updated on here about Corey so since we had an appointment today, I guess it's a good time too! :) This morning we had a check up with Dr. Lewis in Seattle and it was great! Since Corey hasn't had any symptoms, breathing problems or chest tighness, he gets to go off his Prednisone! YAY! It's been just over a year since all this started and it seems like the perfect time to have it end and hopefully only be in our past, not our future. He does have to go in at the end of the month for another CT Scan and respitory test to get a new baseline of how his lungs and lymphnodes are now just in case this does happen to sneak back up again. The good thing is if it does, now we know what we're dealing with, what to look for and how to tackle it.

All in all, we were excited this morning, seems like something so small, but with what we went through emotionally and him physically, we're glad it's at the end.

Thanks for all the continued prayer and support over the last year. It's definitley been felt and we're thankful for them all!

11 weeks

So it's been a few weeks since I've updated but it's been great! We had our first apptointment when I was 9 weeks. It was a long day with appointments but so worth it. Corey and I went in for the Ultrasound first and it was so amazing! To see our baby looked like a baby already. Well, more like a gummy bear! lol. During the ultrasound, we got to hear the heart beat too for the first time. That was unexpected for me. I didn't think you could hear one yet, but to my surprise, there it was. I got so emotional, then I looked at Corey and he was wiping tears too. It was cute! The rest of the appointment was just going over our family and medical history so wasn't too exciting. That day definitly made it real though! :)

Since then I haven't been too sick. It's been almost 3 weeks since I've been really sick so I'm assuming that it's done finally! Thank god!

This last Friday I went in for my 12 week appointment a week early since they didn't have any openings next week. It was a pretty quick appointment, much faster than the first. I asked my mom to go with us this time too. When we went back to the room, the Dr warned me that it's early so it may take a little longer to find the heart beat, however, it seemed like FOREVER. I was trying not to freak out, but that's hard. So my Dr finally said forget it and went and got the Ultrasound machine. So my mom got the unexpected surprise to see the ultrasound with us. That was exciting. It's amazing to me how much the baby has changed in 2 weeks. You could see everything, arms, legs, the start of the face. So far, it looks like we have a VERY active baby. Must take after daddy! lol. It was moving all over the place in there. I'm really glad we go to see it! Our next appointment is scheduled for May 21, 2 days before my 30th birthday. :)

Last thing...I'm a little bothered by the fact that my clothes are already not fitting. More my pants than shirts, but shirts too. Won't go into detail, but everywhere seems to be growing faster than I'd like! lol. That's ok, as long as our little bean is healthy, I'm ok with it.

Baby Baby Baby!

So in my last post I said I wasn't too sick....well, baby bean has other ideas sometimes. :) But it's been good since I've changed taking my prenatal vitamin at night. There have been so many stresses about everything though. I feel like I'm paranoid and my poor friends who've either had babies or are pregnant (you know who you are...lol). I think I call or email every day asking questions about what is normal and not. I do finally have my first Prenatal visit scheduled for Friday 4/2 in Renton so I can ask all my questions then. I'm so excited to get my little beans first pictures taken. :) I'll share as soon as we get them of course. I'll be 9 weeks to the day for that appointment. I know it's kinda late, but I needed to wait until I get my own insurance. I can't wait!! Corey and I are anxious for it of course.

This weekend my little bean and I are headed to Spokane to see it's auntie's, uncle, grandpa, gramma and great grandma! I can't wait! I'll have to post pics in my next post of the family!

Till then!

New Additon to our Family

Well, it's only been 6 months since I've updated our blog! lol! Although there hasn't been much to write about. Corey has been doing fantasic and he still doesn't have to go to the doctor until May. Now, however, we have new things in our life to write about. On wednesday, 3-3 Corey and I found out that I'm pregnant with our first baby!! Scary but super exciting. Our little jelly bean is due on November 5, 2010 and I can't wait!

Right now, I'm 6 weeks along and I think so far so good with the symptoms. So far not too much getting sick, (only once in fact) just a little queazy feeling in the mornings and later evening. The only other symptom I'm really having is my energy feels likes it's all drained from my body! I sure miss me some caffiene! :) lol Other than that, it's been great!

We're super excited for the addtion to our family and what the future has to hold for us. I can't wait to be a mommy, scary as it may seem, but I know that we'll be just fine.
